The presidential candidate Tymoshenko has previously appealed to the Prosecutor’s General Office claiming that there was an attempt to influence him.
Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said that the Prosecutor’s General Office, together with the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Security Bureau detained two people because they wanted to give 5 million hryvnia bribe to presidential candidate Yuriy Tymoshenko so he would withdraw her candidature from the presidential race.
Attorney General stated this on Facebook.
“The Prosecutor General’s Office, jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Security Bureau, has just detained two people who tried to give dollars in the equivalent of 5 million UAH to presidential candidate Yuriy Tymoshenko for his refusal to run,” Lutsenko said.
According to Lutsenko, Tymoshenko himself had previously appealed to the Prosecutor’s General Office “after the attempts were made to influence him.”
