According to the American commander, Romania will be the next target after Odessa.
Today, in the Black Sea region, Russia is committing the greatest aggression, and if it is not stopped, then Odessa or even Romania may become the next occupied country. This was told by the former commander of US land forces in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Hodges reports Czech edition Česke Noviny.
He believes that the lack of cohesion of the Allies in Europe prompts Russia to aggression, and Moscow will use any “cracks” in the Alliance. Therefore, the general believes that it is necessary to increase the capabilities of NATO in the Black Sea region, from which comes a serious threat.
“This is the area where Russia carries out the largest and most powerful aggression. If the West does not do anything with the annexation of the Crimea, it is quite possible that Odessa will be the next city to be occupied, and finally, possibly also Romania,” said Hodges.
The American military commander considers the cohesion of the allies as the best factor in deterring the aggressor. He noted that the United States needs reliable allies in Europe, Australia, Canada.
