Volodymyr Zelensky believes that he and his team will cope with the major problems that have arisen in Ukraine in recent years.
Presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky said about two global problems of Ukraine and voiced some aspects of his election program.
This was stated by Zelensky in an interview with the TV channel “Ukraine”, on April 7.
He called the war in the Donbas one of the “major problems” of Ukraine, the second is the fear of investors to invest in the country.
“People are scared, their finances are not protected, business is being harassed by all possible law enforcement agencies that should not do this at all. In our program (of the presidential candidate – ed.) all these functions of law enforcement, the SSU, the GPO, the Ministry of Internal Affairs should be eliminated. For this (ed. – investigate the private business), it is necessary to create a separate body that should deal with economic crimes,” said Zelensky.
He added that business in the West “is waiting for guarantees” in order to build further relations with Ukraine.
“They believe that they will have a guarantee with the new President,” noted Zelensky.
The presidential candidate also said that his team had discussed steps to combat corruption, restart anti-corruption bodies, and launch an anti-corruption court.
“Two years have passed, the promises are continuing … I think that we can still do this,” said Zelensky.
He added that the course of Ukraine is Euro-integration.
“This course of Ukraine has long been chosen and no one plans to change this course. They talked about NATO. It seems to me that everyone agreed, and I personally, as a citizen of Ukraine, said ‘I am in favor of NATO’. But to join NATO – and this is recorded in our program – we must explain to people what it is. But joining NATO must necessarily be determined through a referendum,” he noted.
