Poroshenko believed that the debate would help him attract the electorate, but he did not think that he would have to answer frank questions directly to the people, and this will put him on his knees.
President Petro Poroshenko agreed to hold a debate with the presidential candidate, showman Volodymyr Zelensky at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev. At the same time, the acting President began to say that the rules for the debate of candidates are spelled out in the legislation on elections and can be held only on the basis of Public Television. However, the Head of State nevertheless agreed to hold a debate at the stadium so that he would not be considered a coward.
Zelensky offered the stadium for a reason; it is an ideal platform for debates for the people of Ukraine can watch. Therefore, in the light of the upcoming events, our editorial board tried to predict which questions Poroshenko would not have a direct answer to. Strangely enough, there can be a lot of such questions because apart from visa-free, the President failed to fulfill a single serious promise to the people.
The first three questions that Poroshenko cannot answer immediately come to mind.
- What is the opinion of the acting President on the subject of Boyko and Medvedchuk trip to Moscow to negotiate gas treaties? So else is a pro-Putin candidate?
At the same time, it is widely believed that Boyko betrayed the “Opposition Bloc” and went over to Poroshenko’s side. The media repeatedly wrote that it was Boyko who led Poroshenko into the second round by literally holding his hand. Therefore, no one will be surprised when the former candidate from abolished “Party of Regions” will begin to urge his voters to support for Poroshenko.
- The second question will break the guarantor in tatters. Why is everyone who tries to trade with Russia and in the occupied territories are separatists, “vatnik’s” and criminals, and the “Roshen” sweets are still sold in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Lugansk, Donetsk, and Sebastopol?
Petro Alekseevich declared a large income from the corporation “Roshen”, which sells its products in the above-mentioned cities and pays taxes to Russia and the unrecognized D/LPR republics, and this is already the financing of terrorism.
- The third question will put Poroshenko on his knees. Everyone remembers the sensational case of coal supply from occupied regions of Donetsk and Luhansk at the price of “Rotterdam+” to the Akhmetov company DTEK, in which Poroshenko is a shareholder. Isn’t it trading with terrorists?
These three questions will be enough to make Poroshenko “go for the hat” of Zelensky like he did with a girl from Zaporozhye who asked Poroshenko an “inconvenient” question. But during the presidency of Poroshenko, there will be hundreds of questions that he cannot answer, as for example, why Svinarchuk is in prison when all judges are appointed under the signature of the President? This list can still be continued for a long time, but let us see the debates that promise to be “hot”.
I would not like to play along with Zelensky, but he was not an official yet and, for obvious reasons, did not have the opportunity to participate in the looting of Ukraine. He did not raise utility rates, promising a low-percentage discount on gas before the second round. And Zelensky will not impose taxes on Ukrainians working abroad from the after the election.
Yes, Volodymyr Zelensky is Kolomoisky’s partner in working with the “1+1” TV channel and has a film company in Russia. What other questions and reproaches can be heard from the lips of the acting President? Time will tell.
