Poroshenko understands that he is losing and for the sake of victory he goes to desperate measures.
Ukrainska Pravda writes, citing sources, that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a closed meeting with the Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) faction demanded to intensify the fight against Volodymyr Zelensky,
According to sources of the publication, at a meeting with the People’s Deputies Poroshenko said that so far he had not worked against Zelensky in full force, but it is time to change that.
“We fought with Yulia (Tymoshenko) because we ourselves could not get into the second round. But did not pay attention to Zelensky. Now I urge you to work together. The campaign against Zelensky now has to become tough,” the Deputy of his faction retold the words of the current President.
“The President said that we should win by knockout,” added another Deputy.
At the same time, no one from the presidential staff or entourage could bring a realistic “knockout” scenario.
However, the President does not exclude a possible loss, his inner circle is confident that Poroshenko will not falsify the result or delay the process in the courts.
“He definitely won’t hold his chair until the last. It will not happen. If he loses, he picks up the phone and congratulates Zelensky. For Poroshenko it is important to remain Poroshenko,” added one of the associates of the President.
Previously Poroshenko’s headquarters declared the victory of their leader in the second round, but the President himself doubts this and tries to “destroy” his rival in every possible way. The other day, he began to hint that Volodymyr Zelensky was a drug addict and his team quickly spread this fake on the social network.
Also, the President is trying to promote himself by any means, for example, spoke of law about impeachment, which for some reason he did not even mention during the years of his presidency.
The current Head of State is clearly not going to give up. He will not have time to drastically raise his rating. Two ways remain: to use black PR against Zelensky, and the second one is falsification, which may become the largest in the history of Ukraine during the presidential elections.
