In the first round of elections, the President was supported only by two regions, but at the same time, his headquarters is confident that Poroshenko will win in the second round.
The team of the presidential candidate of Ukraine and the current Head of State, Petro Poroshenko, is confident of winning the second round of elections. This statement was made last week during a briefing by the Head of Staff Oleg Medvedev.
“We soberly assess the situation … We understand that our opponent is popular, but ours are stronger and better prepared in every sense to fulfill the functions entrusted to him by the constitution,” Medvedev said.
Also the other day, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the current Head of State, Petro Poroshenko, would win in the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine.
He stated this in an interview on the website of the President of Belarus: “As the second round ends, no one will dare to predict. I’m still inclined to think that Poroshenko will win this presidential election. I won’t do analytics and compare Poroshenko with Volodymyr Zelensky, who won in the first round. One thing I know very well. I saw Zelensky only in cinema (ed. – as an actor), I do not know him as a politician. ”
Such statements give Poroshenko confidence in victory, while he himself doubts this and is trying in every way to “destroy” his opponent. The other day, he began to hint that Volodymyr Zelensky was a drug addict and the presidential team quickly spread this fake on the social networks.
Also, the President is promoting himself by any means necessary. For example, he spoke of law about impeachment, which for some reason he did not even mention about during the years of his presidency. This tactic says one thing, that Pyotr Alekseevich already sees the end of his first and at the same time the last term, but with all his might he clambers to remain at his post.
But in Poroshenko’s headquarters victory cry is already heard. How is it possible considering that the majority of Ukrainians in all regions of the country are ready to vote for Zelensky?
In the first round of elections, Volodymyr Zelensky scored almost twice as many votes as Petro Poroshenko – 30.24% against 15.95%. At the same time, the current President remains one of the leaders of the anti-rating: about 60% of Ukrainians said that under no circumstances would they vote for Poroshenko.
But the current Head of State is clearly not going to give up. He will not have time to drastically raise his rating. Two ways remain: to use black PR against Zelensky, what he already does with his team, and the second – falsification, which may become the most ambitious undertaking in the history of the presidential elections in independent Ukraine.
Recall that according to the CEC, Petro Poroshenko came in the first place only in the Western regions of the country. He leads only in two regions: Lviv and Ternopil. These regions are considered the bastion of nationalist and pro-Western forces. In the Lviv region, Poroshenko result is 36%.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky is supported almost throughout all of Ukraine. In the Central regions of Ukraine, Zelensky is confidently taking the first place. For example, in the Kiev region, Zelensky has 30%, while Poroshenko only 17%. In the East of Ukraine Zelensky also leads. Here its gap is even greater than in the Central regions. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, its result is 45%. In the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions controlled by Ukraine, Boyko leads, and Zelensky in second place.
Also in Kiev, the showman is ahead of Poroshenko by a small margin – 27% to 25%. In addition, Zelensky wins in all Southern regions of the country.
With such results of voting in the regions, how can Poroshenko claim victory? He is supported by two regions and if it so happens that he wins in the second round, it will be 100% falsified.
Even in the scenario when voters of other candidates will vote in favor of Poroshenko, this will not change the results dramatically since all other voters will not only support Zelensky but also vote to prevent Poroshenko from staying in power.
