On February 13, a fake rally was held in Kharkov in support of the Ukrainian serial killer Anatoly Onoprienko, who was allegedly nominated “presidential candidate.” It is noteworthy that Kharkiv residents are ready to support the serial killer as a candidate for the presidency of their country to receive payment of 1000 UAH.
As it turned out, the fake rally was organized by journalists of the local news website 057.ua, together with the ATO veteran.
The journalists explained that Andrei, a veteran of armed conflict the Donbass, requested their help to a “rally”. He said that he was inspired by the videos made by prankers who had previously organized similar fake rallies in Odessa and Kiev.
“I decided to check out how Kharkiv citizens will react. Only on the first day, approximately 150 people called me ” he said.
An announcement has been posted on the web proposing to come to the Constitution Square in Kharkov and support the “presidential candidate” Anatoly Onoprienko. The rally participants were promised to receive 1000 UAH per person.
However, many people could not verify who Onoprienko is and began to apply for participation in the rally.
“We specifically decided to choose a non-existing politician as a candidate, and such an odious person to show that it’s absolutely inessential for those who like “easy money”. And instead of Onoprienko, we could have substituted any surname, be it Milosevic, Maduro or Zakharchenko, this would not change anything,” local media explained.
