According to the latest information, it is possible that Boyko in the second round will be Poroshenko’s partner.
Presidential candidate from the party “The Opposition Platform – For Life” Yuriy Boyko does not rule out a coalition with other parties, including “Batkivschyna” by Yulia Tymoshenko.
He stated this on the program “Fifth Corner” on the TV channel NewsOne.
Boyko said he is ready to unite and form a coalition with “those who will agree with us, who will take steps for peace in the country and those who will protect the economic interests of the voters”.
When answering the question of his possible alliance with the leader of “Batkivshchyna”, he answered: “If it would be a step towards achieving peace, then yes.”
Boyko also spoke about the split of the “Opposition bloc”. According to him, during the negotiations on the union with the “For Life” party, “it became clear that the business-oriented part of Oppobloc was playing the fool.”
“I think our voter deserves a united opposition front. We will give them a hand if they understand that they need to respond to the voter’s request and unite,” he said.
“Sorry, it happened. We are ready to unite in the future in order to defend the interests of voters,” stressed Boyko.
Political analyst Mikhail Chaplyga said that: “Presidential administration is calculating two options: 1. Pull Boiko as Poroshenko’s partner into the second round (it will work under the condition of massive vote buying and system bribing with a “monetized ”subsidy); 2. Agree with Boiko that in the second round in the case Poroshenko will have to compete with Tymoshenko (Poroshenko’s passage to the second round – again, simply by system bribing), Boyko publicly supports Tymoshenko (but does nothing at the level of his network).”
