Zelensky’s team stated that by issuing passports of the Russian Federation to people in Donbass Russia recognized its responsibility as an occupying state.
By a decree on the issuance of Russian passports to citizens of Ukraine who are in territories temporarily out of control of our country, the Russian Federation has recognized its responsibility as an occupying state.
This was stated by the Zelensky’s team on the Facebook page.
“These actions are another clear confirmation for the world community of the real role of Russia, as the aggressor state, which is waging war against Ukraine,” stated the President’s team.
The report added that this decree “does not bring us closer to the solution of the main task – the cease-fire.”
At the same time, Zelensky is assured that Ukraine will do “everything in its power to protect, provide proper assistance and ensure the rights of its citizens who are forced to be in the occupied territories.”
His team added that they are counting on the support of the international community and increased diplomatic and sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation.
Also, Zelensky added that one of his priorities will be “solving urgent life problems of immigrants and expanding opportunities to support relations with Ukrainian citizens in the occupied territories, a set of measures to end the war and de-occupation our territories.”
