According to Turchinov, the President of the Russian Federation calculated everything, but he underestimated the crucial factor – resolve of the Ukrainian people.
Russian President Vladimir Putin lost in Ukraine and failed to launch a full-scale offensive on all fronts because he was confident in the failure of Ukraine to meet the challenges it faced back in 2014. According to the plan of the Kremlin, all protests should have collapsed, and the regime of Yanukovych be reinstalled. However, Moscow did not expect the resolve of the Ukrainian people.
This was stated by the Secretary of the NSDC Alexander Turchinov in an interview with Censor. net.
According to him, Putin did not think that the Ukrainian people can organize themselves so quickly that in critical conditions (only 100 thousand UAH was present in the country’s budget, the complete demoralization of law enforcement agencies) and promptly restore the force component.
“In Russia, they were convinced that the entire power vertical was appointed by Yanukovych and it is impossible to change it in a day. Even in a month, it is impossible. Remember how in the East the police supported the separatists … And as a result there will be chaos, there will be mass riots. Internal conflicts will begin, separatists in many regions will seize power and Putin will be able to enter Kiev by delivering a puppet of Yanukovych in an army wagon.
