Discovered missile system will be delivered to the arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During an inspection in one of the Ukrainian seaports 36 anti-aircraft missiles of the Russian S-125 Pechora complex was discovered.
The Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios told this at a government meeting on Wednesday.
According to him the SSU in conjunction with the Military Prosecutor’s Office discovered “fully equipped missiles of the ground-to-air missile system S-125” during the inspection in one of the seaports of Ukraine “.
Matios said that the court has already arrested these missiles as objects of violation of customs regulations.
“The said property and ammunition and the missile system are proposed to the government by orders to transfer them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A letter on the need for such weapons in the resource of our army is signed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine,” the Prosecutor noted.
He stressed that in the case of the relevant order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive “literally next week a modern anti-aircraft missile system consisting of an entire battalion of combat-ready Russian missile complex Pechora”.
Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko, who was present at the meeting, added that 36 such missiles were found.
