The Kremlin is outraged that Ukraine is ready to impose new fines.
Russia can extend gas transportation through Ukraine after 2019 if competitive conditions will be offered. TASS news agency reports that this was stated by Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak on the sidelines of the Russian Investment Forum.
According to him, Ukrainian and Russian parties first need to resolve litigation.
Novak stressed that “Ukraine does not add optimism” while discussing Ukraine’s readiness to “impose more and more fines”.
The Russian minister also added that Ukraine has not fulfilled the commitments made to the European Commission for reforming its gas transmission system.
