This person is suspected of inflicting more than 93 million hryvnias of losses on Ukrzaliznytsia.
National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) detectives at the airport “Borispol” detained an assistant of the People’s Deputy and former First Deputy Head of the Branch “Production Support Center” of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” on suspicion of grand larceny.
This was reported by the press office of the bureau.
“This person and his family are suspected of inflicting more than 93 million hryvnias of losses on Ukrzaliznytsia by purchasing railway switches at above-market prices. At the time of the crime, the ex-official was an assistant to one of the People’s Deputy, who, according to investigators, was also involved in the corruption scheme,” – stated by the press office.
It is worth noticing that the suspicion of the ex-official “Ukrzaliznytsia” reported in January. But since he was hiding from the investigation, he was put on the wanted list.
“The suspect was detained by State Border Service officers and handed him over to the NABU detectives for investigation,” summed up by the NABU.
According to the website of the branch “Center for Production Support” of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, the first deputy head of the branch in 2016 was Eduard Pushkarenko.
The same position is listed in the Pushkarenko declaration.
In addition, a person with the same name is listed among the staff of the People’s Deputy Yaroslav Dubnevich.
People’s Deputy Vitaliy Kupriy, who in 2016 applied to NABU with a report about this crime, pointed out that the brothers Dubnevichi and other officials of “Ukrzaliznytsia” Eduard Pushkarenko were involved in the grand larceny.
Also, a person with the same name was declared wanted in January 2019, when they reported on suspicions of grand larceny.
