Describing the amount of his salary, Poroshenko added that at certain state-owned enterprises executives receive a salary 100 times higher than that of the Ukrainian president.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that his salary as head of state is 28 thousand hryvnias (approximately 1050 USD).
“I haven’t been receiving a salary in the civil service since ’98, I donate it all on charity. This is also because I have income for living. Today, the president’s salary level is 28,000 (UAH),” Poroshenko said.
At the same time, he noted that a large number of members of the judiciary, investigators and other officials have several times, and in some state-owned enterprises receive 100 times higher salaries than that of the president.
In this regard, Poroshenko stated the need to resolve the issue with the salaries of civil servants, remove any specialized laws that make possible selective increases in salaries and increase salaries to all civil servants on the basis of general principles.
