In Ukraine the cameras will work and, according to Avakov, the fines for violation of traffic rules will be abysmal.
In Ukraine, as early as 2019, automatic video fixation of traffic violations will be launched – fines will be very high.
About this in the program “Visiting Dmitry Gordon” said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov (to watch the video, scroll the news to the end).
“Almost everything is ready; we only lack small details – one resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers and one small amendment in Parliament. I think this year we will turn everything on, and across the country, first 30 cameras will start working, then 50, then 150,” said Avakov.
In total, according to the minister, there will be about 1,000 cameras on the roads of the country.
“The problem is that the fines from these cameras will be abysmal! Because one thing is to say that we are good, and another is to adhere to traffic rules. Even now, when we began to use these sad TruCam (speed-monitoring radars. – Ed.), we see a 15-20% decrease in the accident rate on these sites. It’s not just interest rate — it’s a matter of life,” said the Interior Minister.
He added that currently more people are killed on the roads than in war. “5-6 thousand killed on the roads! It is unacceptable! ”- Avakov summarized.
