People’s Deputy was summoned to the department of the Chernihiv police department on April 15 on the subject of an investigation about the bribing of voters.
“The police collected enough irrefutable evidence on the subject of bribing of voters, therefore, on April 15 the police summoning a People’s Deputy, who is related to this reception, to testify to the investigator of the Chernigov police department,” law enforcement officials said.
Participation in schemes for buying votes in accordance with Article 160 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for penalties in the form of buyers (up to 7 years in prison), and for those who sell their votes (restriction of liberty to 2 years).
It is unknown which of the People’s Deputies is summoned in for questioning by the police, but Interfax-Ukraine reported that they were talking about the people’s deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) faction, Sergey Berezenko, who won the election to the Verkhovna Rada on 205 single-mandate majoritarian constituencies in Chernigov.
Earlier, Aleksandr Tarnavskiy, Head of the Chernihiv headquarters of the National Corps Party, spoke about bribing voters in the reception room to Berezenko on the air of UA: Chernigov. In addition, Bihus.Info journalists found out that the current President’s entourage is connected with public organizations, which under the guise of polls collected personal data of voters to form the so-called “networks”. This term was used to describe the voter bribery that came into use in 2015 and was associated with election to Parliament President’s confidant Sergey Berezenko.
