Soviet symbols in Ukraine are prohibited by law.
In Odessa, the police detained a 15-year-old girl wearing clothes with Soviet symbols. It happened on Kulikovo Field during the mass events to mark the fifth anniversary of the riots that took place in the city on May 2, 2014.
This was reported by the communication department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region.
It is noteworthy that the UN accused Ukraine of ineffective investigation of the tragedy in Odessa.
According to the report, a 15-year-old resident of the Limansky district came to participate in mass events wearing a T-shirt with the image of Soviet symbols which are forbidden by Ukrainian law.
“The girl was taken to the territorial police department. There she explained that she did not know that the image on clothes was prohibited. Militiamen conducted explanatory work with her,” the message states.
The press service of the police noted that the detained minor did not reach the age of criminal responsibility, therefore, for failure to fulfill the duties of raising her daughter her father was fined in accordance with Part 4 of Art. 184 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses.
