In Kharkiv, a procession of pro-Russian organizations took place along the central streets.
About 50 members of the organization “Labor party of Kharkiv region” and the “Socialists” party marched from Constitution Square towards the monument dedicated to the first Kharkiv “Mayovka” [ed. – illegal celebration of Labor day in the Russian Empire].
At the same time, representatives of the patriotic organizations of Kharkiv appeared in front of the column of pro-Russian organizations. Pro-Ukrainian activists held a campaign “The Funeral of Communism”. They walked in front of the Pro-Russian procession carrying the mourning wreaths and a poster with a crossed sickle and a hammer.
Participants in the pro-Russian rally chanted “Peace, Labor, May,” in response to which pro-Ukrainian activists responded, “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!”
Public order is carried out by more than 200 police officers.
