The epic concerning bills with additional charges for gas continues. Ukrainian oligarch wants to get rich illegally at the expense of common Ukrainians.
Gas distribution monopoly owned by oligarch Firtash (“Oblgaz”) is trying through court to lift the ban on introducing additional payments in bills for bringing gas volumes to standard conditions.
“Ukrinform” website informs that this was reported by the National Commission for state regulation in the energy and utilities (NKREKP).
“Yes, it concerns all 20 operators of gas distribution systems. This is public information and it is available in the court cases register. The NKREKP Legal Department is working to protect the position of the regulator, ” said Oksana Krivenko, chairperson of the Commission.
Previously “Naftogaz” urged household consumers of natural gas without meters who massively receive payments accrued on the basis of excessive consumption rates to send corresponding complaints to the government hotline.
In December, gas-free consumers received bills for gas with additional charges.
Regional Gas Company managing the gas business of Dmytro Firtash stated that the amount of recalculation for past periods is given in the bills informatively and is not payable. The Regional Gas Company has asked the government to develop a mechanism for compensating the debt indicated in the bills.
On December 2, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to check all the “Oblgaz” companies in the country. The reason for this inspection is stated as “charging additional payments by the regional gas companies” for the gas consumed by the population.
NKREKP received permission from the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine to conduct unscheduled inspections of 20 gas distribution system operators for additional charges in the bills.
