The collection of the third president counted 5,730 authentic rushnyks.
The third president of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, was officially recognized as the owner of the world’s largest collection of rushnyks (Ukrainian traditional cloth towel embroidered with symbols). This was announced by the National Registry of Records on a page on Facebook.
“Viktor Yushchenko is now officially the owner of the largest collection of rushnyks in the world. Vitaly Zorin and Vetrova Lana, experts of the National Register of Records, counted 5,730 authentic embroidered and woven towels, which are the guardians of the cultural memory of Ukrainians, ” the statement reads.
