The detained suspect was on the international wanted list since February of 2015.
In the town of Obukhov, Kiev region, police detained a person suspected of child abuse who had been hiding from German law enforcement for 4 years.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police.
“During 2007-2012, a resident of Germany repeatedly committed abuse and rape of children. German law enforcement officers discovered 15 such episodes, ”— states the press service.
Since February 2015, the suspect was on the international wanted list.
“He is charged with committing crimes related to the child abuse with aggravating circumstances. We are talking about crimes under Art. 174 (Fosterling’s abuse), Art. 176 (Child abuse) of the German Penal Code,” the statement continue.
The temporary arrest of the detainee and his extradition to Germany is currently being considered. By German law, the penalty for such crime is up to 15 years in prison.
